BRICS poses threat to west?

The recent expansion of BRICS(Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) could become problematic. Recently, the UAE, Ethiopia, Egypt, and Iran joined the organization, primarily as a sign from members Russia and China that they are not alone in their stand-off against the west. However, this could only serve to escalate the conflict between NATO and BRICS nations, as the US and its allies may feel threatened by this expansion. Although it is unlikely that anything comes from this move, it could be interesting to see if NATO reacts in any way.
